The honest review

Park Plaza Westminster Bridge is a large modern hotel (1,019 rooms) that manages to feel less impersonal than its size suggests, largely because the location forces a kind of energy: Westminster Bridge at the front, the South Bank riverside walk alongside, and Parliament visible from the upper floors. For families doing London with kids, this is a reliable foundation.

The family suites are genuinely large by London standards — a separate bedroom with king bed and a living area with sofa bed handles a family of four without the squeezing that makes standard rooms miserable. The indoor pool is a real asset in a city where pools at this price point are rare. Kids can swim while parents recover in the spa area, and the whole setup is significantly better than the average London 4-star alternative.

Food is handled by multiple in-house options (Aqua and a brasserie), but the South Bank restaurant scene along the river means you'd be eating out most nights anyway. Brasserie Blanc and a dozen others are within a five-minute walk.

The tradeoff: the hotel is large and sometimes busy in a way that smaller boutique properties aren't. Service is professional but not particularly warm. Pricing has risen to near-5-star levels in peak summer. The familyFactor of 75 reflects strong location and room-size advantages against middling kids programming and the inevitable sense that this hotel is primarily designed for business travelers who also happen to bring families.
