Hyatt Place is Hyatt's upper-midscale brand and it does one thing that most hotel brands don't: builds a sofabed into every room as standard. Not as a paid upgrade. Not as a connecting room add-on. Every room. That matters for families of four who don't want to pay $400/night for a family suite when $140/night gets them a room that sleeps four, free breakfast, and no resort fee.

Let's start with the practical stuff. Every Hyatt Place room comes with a queen or king bed plus a Cozy Corner — Hyatt's term for the built-in sofabed unit with a chaise lounge and fold-out mattress. The double queen configuration gives you two queens plus the sofabed, which handles families of 5-6 reasonably well. For a family trip where the hotel is a base camp and not the destination, this room configuration eliminates the 'we need a suite' conversation.

Free breakfast: Hyatt Place serves a daily a.m. Kitchen breakfast buffet with hot items (scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits), fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, and juice. For a family of four, this is $40-60 of real savings every morning before you've hit the Children's Museum entrance fee.
