1The Wharf Orange Beach

A built-in entertainment district with a 100-foot observation wheel, mini golf, an arcade, an AMC theater, and enough shops and restaurants to make a full evening out of it without driving anywhere else. The default rainy-day or after-beach plan for Orange Beach.
Watch out: Individual rides and mini golf are priced à la carte and add up fast — decide on a per-family budget before you get there. Parking fills on weekend evenings; arrive before dinner rush.
2Sailaway Dolphin & Sunset Cruise

Perdido Pass and the back bays have a resident dolphin population, and a 90-minute to 2-hour cruise reliably finds them without the rougher open-Gulf swell of a fishing trip. Sunset departures add the golden-hour photo without pushing bedtime too late.
Watch out: No guaranteed dolphin sightings — reputable operators will say so even though the odds here are genuinely good. Sun exposure on an open-deck boat is intense; reapply sunscreen mid-trip.
3Zeke's Marina Deep-Sea Fishing Charter

Red snapper, king mackerel, and grouper are close enough to shore here for a half-day trip to be worthwhile, and a shared party boat is materially cheaper than a private charter if the goal is just "the kids catch a fish," not a serious sportfishing trip.
Watch out: The open Gulf side swells more than the bay — ask about seasickness history before booking, and consider motion-sickness meds for kids prone to it. Private charters cost far more but skip the crowd and let you set the pace.
4Alabama Point Beach & Jetty

The east-end beach near the state line has calmer water close to the jetty rocks than the open Gulf-front stretches — a better bet for younger kids and casual snorkeling around the rock structure.
Watch out: Rocks near the jetty are slick and have barnacles — water shoes are not optional here. Currents can run stronger right at the pass mouth; stay well clear of the channel itself.
5Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach

Free glassblowing demonstrations run regularly, and older kids and teens can book a hands-on session to make their own piece — a genuinely different souvenir than another beach-town t-shirt, and a solid rainy-afternoon plan.
Watch out: Hands-on glassblowing sessions need advance booking and usually have a minimum age (check per class, typically around 8+). The demo alone is short — pair it with The Wharf or lunch nearby.
