For families, the building's appeal translates into practical advantage through location: the Interlaken West train station is 100m from the entrance, which means the Jungfraujoch (the 3,454m mountain railway summit — the highest train station in Europe and Switzerland's most visited tourist attraction) is a 15-minute walk to a train connection.

The Lauterbrunnen Valley day trip — the most photographed valley in Switzerland, with 72 waterfalls including Staubbach Falls — is 20 minutes by train. Grindelwald for glacier hiking and mountain biking is 30 minutes. The Schilthorn (where the James Bond films were partly set) is a cable car from Mürren, 45 minutes. Harder Kulm, the panorama platform above Interlaken, is a 5-minute funicular ride and most families do it as an evening activity for sunset.

For families prioritizing the Bernese Oberland excursion circuit, the Victoria-Jungfrau's location is simply the best in Interlaken.
