The Breakers Resort is an independently-operated, five-tower oceanfront property right in the center of Myrtle Beach's main attraction corridor — 700 feet of beachfront a short walk from the Boardwalk and SkyWheel. At 544 rooms spanning studios up to 4-bedroom condos sleeping 12, it's built for volume: multi-family reunions, large groups, and families who want space to spread out without booking two rooms.

The standout amenity is The Cove, an indoor waterpark with five named slides (Myrtle Mayhem, Riptide Racers, Torpedo Shoot, Twisted Typhoon), on top of seven pools total (three of them kiddie pools), an indoor lazy river, hot tubs, and a sunken pirate ship play structure. Combined with free or discounted tickets to Myrtle Waves Water Park, Ripley's Aquarium, and Broadway Grand Prix, this is one of the more water-attraction-dense properties on the Grand Strand — in the same category as Dunes Village and Caribbean Resort & Villas rather than a standard branded hotel.

Dining stays casual and kid-friendly: Papa's Breakfast Buffet, a Starbucks, a Ben & Jerry's, and two bar/grill concepts (Rusty Reel seasonally, Strong Waters year-round) mean parents aren't constantly leaving the property for food.

The honest trade-offs show up in recent reviews: a 3.9/5 average across nearly 9,000 Tripadvisor reviews, with recurring complaints about room cleanliness (reports of dirty linens, insufficient housekeeping), decor that feels dated in unrenovated units, an old and cramped parking garage, and at least one report of the kiddie water slide being shut down mid-stay due to staffing shortages.
