The honest review

Disney's All-Star Music Resort is one of three Value Resorts in the All-Star complex (alongside Movies and Sports), themed around musical genres — Calypso, Jazz, Broadway, Country, and Rock sections each get their own oversized props, from three-story maracas to a giant drum set marking the entrance to Jazz Inn. As of mid-2026, All-Star Music has no refurbishment scheduled or in progress, which matters because sister resort All-Star Movies began an 8-month, phased room refurbishment in late May 2026 running through January 2027 — Music is currently the more stable choice among the three for families who don't want to think about construction zones during their stay.

The Family Suites, concentrated in the Calypso and Jazz Inn sections, are the property's most useful room type for anyone traveling with more than 2-3 people: a separate bedroom, a living area with two additional sleepers, two full bathrooms, and a kitchenette, sleeping up to 6 plus a crib. That configuration is genuinely rare at Value Resort pricing — most competing Value rooms top out at a standard 2-queen layout.

The two pools split the resort's outdoor entertainment: the guitar-shaped Calypso Pool with its kiddie pool built into the guitar's headstock, and the piano-shaped Piano Pool near Jazz/Broadway. Both are functional rather than elaborate compared to Disney's Moderate and Deluxe resort water features — there's no slide or extensive water play structure here. Standard rooms are compact and dated relative to newly refurbished Pop Century and (eventually) All-Star Movies rooms, which is the honest tradeoff for avoiding the current construction disruption. For families prioritizing the Family Suite's extra space and bathroom count, or simply wanting to avoid a refurbishment-in-progress property, All-Star Music is a solid, currently-stable Value Resort pick.
