The honest review

Storey Lake Resort sits just off Osceola Parkway, built around an actual lake that most competing Kissimmee vacation-home communities don't have. That lake access — canoe and kayak rentals included — is a real point of difference for families who want an on-property activity beyond the pool, and it gives the resort a slightly less generic feel than the dozens of similar communities clustered along Highway 192.

The clubhouse amenity package is genuinely strong for the category: a lazy river and splash pad for younger kids, an adult pool for parents who want a break, a full movie theater, a sauna, and mini-golf across a family's various age ranges. Fitness-minded parents get a real gym rather than the two-treadmill afterthought common at smaller communities.

Homes range from compact 2-3 bedroom units up to 7-9 bedroom houses built for large reunions, with most mid-size and larger homes including a private pool — critical for families who don't want to share pool space with the whole community during peak weeks. Being roughly 19 miles from Orlando International Airport and set back from the main 192 corridor means a slightly longer drive to the parks than resorts directly on Disney's doorstep, but also a quieter, less commercial setting. As with any community of individually owned rentals, unit quality varies — book through a reputable local manager and check recent reviews for the specific home.
