The honest review

The Hilton Sedona at Bell Rock sits in the Village of Oak Creek, south of Uptown Sedona, adjacent to two of Sedona's best easy-to-moderate hiking trails: Bell Rock Pathway and the Courthouse Butte Loop. The location trades the Uptown walkability of Amara for a quieter, more residential neighborhood — which works well for families who want to hike directly from the property.

The room inventory is the key differentiator for families. The villa suites (one, two, and three-bedroom configurations) provide full living areas and kitchen capabilities, making this the most practical accommodation choice for families of four to six. The two-bedroom villas in particular offer a genuine alternative to booking two standard hotel rooms elsewhere in Sedona.

The pool complex is serviceable, and seasonal kids' programming (available in summer) gives younger children structured activity beyond the hiking trails. The adjacent 18-hole golf course is a draw for multi-gen trips where grandparents want an activity while parents hike with kids.

Compared to Amara: the Hilton Sedona is less boutique, slightly less architecturally striking, and farther from Uptown's restaurants and galleries. What it trades for that is more space, better family-oriented room types, and slightly lower prices. For a family of five who needs a villa, the Hilton is often the better practical choice even if Amara offers a more memorable aesthetic experience.
