Best Things to Do in Paris With Kids
Paris family days: a Seine river cruise, the Eiffel Tower (booked, or Trocadéro views if tickets are gone), Jardin du Luxembourg / a playground hour, the Louvre only with a plan (or Musée d'Orsay instead), and Disneyland Paris as a dedicated day in Marne-la-Vallée — not 'central Paris.' One bakery walk counts as an activity.

The orientation that does not require a museum voice. Sit, see Notre-Dame / Musée d'Orsay / the tower from the water, get off. Evening lights are prettier; daytime is easier with under-8s. This is the first-afternoon activity after a travel morning.
Watch out: Open-air bateaux are cold and splashy. Dinner cruises are a different, more expensive product — skip them with little kids. Buy a simple sightseeing sailing, not a 'VIP champagne' listing.

Kids want the tower. A booked stairs or second-floor ticket is the real visit. If tickets are gone, Trocadéro + a Champ de Mars picnic is an honest Plan B and often the better photo. Do not waste a morning in a resale queue.
Watch out: Summit tickets sell out. Security lines are the time sink. The Champ de Mars picnic scene includes hawkers — keep a hand on bags. Stairs are a lot of steps; elevators have their own wait.

The hour that makes Paris work with little kids. A serious playground, sailboats on the basin, and shade. Do this after a museum, not instead of lunch. The 6th is walkable to gelato and a rest.
Watch out: The playground charges a modest entry and can close for lunch in the French style — check the board. Rain turns the gravel into a mood. This will not satisfy a 14-year-old.

If you go to the Louvre, go with three objects (Mona Lisa, a mummy, Winged Victory) and leave. Orsay is the better painting museum for many families — smaller, one building, trains in the hall. Under-18 EU/non-EU rules change; check the current free-youth policy when you book.
Watch out: The Louvre without a timed ticket in July is a mistake. Do not promise the whole museum. Gift-shop exit is a second museum. Orsay closed one weekday — verify.

A real Disney park, and it is not in central Paris. If your lodging is already in Marne-la-Vallée, this is the trip. If you are in the 5th, it is a dedicated day on the RER A, not a morning add-on before the Louvre.
Watch out: Two parks (Disneyland Park + Walt Disney Studios) is two days for most families. Food and Genie-style extras will outspend the tickets. Central Paris hotel + Disney day is a 90–120 minute transit tax each way.

Is Disneyland Paris in Paris?
It is in Marne-la-Vallée, east of the city. Fine as a dedicated day or a hotel base. It is not a central-Paris afternoon.
Louvre or Orsay with kids 8–12?
Orsay if they will give you two hours of paintings. Louvre if they have a specific list and you have timed tickets. Do not do both.
Do we have to go up the Eiffel Tower?
No. Trocadéro views are free and often better. Go up if the kids will feel cheated otherwise and you booked ahead.
Activity budget for 5 days in the city (no Disney)?
Plan $250–$600 for a family of 4 doing a Seine cruise, the Tower if tickets exist, and one museum. Parks and bakeries do the rest. Disney is a separate $400–$700 day.
